Profile:

Overcast loves nothing more than to hate Decepticons, he is not very fond of neutrals: either you are an Autobot or you are nothing. He prefers to spend his time on earth where the rough alpine mountain environment can challenge his ability. He enjoys climbing mountains in mech modes and taking long trips through forested areas. He is often in close company with other Autobots that also enjoy these rugged environments.

Overcast is very resentful of his posting on Cybertron where he finds very little challenge in living especially since there are no rugged natural areas to strut his stuff, ruined cities have now become his playground. He is boastful and thinks very highly of his abilities as an all terrain navigator. He sometimes says "I might be as small as a jeep; but I have the power of a tank." When others try to persuade him from what they view as reckless endeavours or he will boast. "I'm a real 4 x 4." He is designed for a rugged lifestyle that he loves to live to the fullest. "Where I go there are no roads"

Overcast is an extremist. He loves challenges and thrives on danger. He is known to occasionally BASE jump. Anything that gets his energon pumping he has tried.

Abilities:

Overcast is very nimble and rugged, he is adept in harsh terrain that would stop the even most versatile of 4 x 4 vehicles, when it comes to seemingly impassable terrain; such as very rocky mountainous ground or almost vertical climbs, he can easily drive over it as long as his tires can get traction and gravity permits. He can also ride along at a 45º angle to level ground.

Other terrain he is capable of handling: deep snow; where a plow is often needed, he can handle with ease and grace. Water; He can ford in areas that are up to .70 metres deep. Mud; rarely poses him the problem that it seems to pose other rough terrain vehicles, and he is often fishing out his larger companions who like to follow his path.

On Earth Overcast often fills the role of search and rescue in these harsh, hard to manoeuvre environments.

Also for his small size Overcast can carry an incredible load, 1000kg. Or in extreme cases providing he is on firm ground and his tires can grip; he can pull a twenty tonne train engine, albeit not very fast. Although he is not too fond of it, he can also carry ten humans if required.

So whether it is fallen trees, rocks or a Decepticon; Overcast can tackle almost anything that is bigger then he is.

Overcast carries a small laser rifle in robot mode, as well as a shoulder mounted rocket launcher.

Weaknesses:

Overcast is not very fast, reaching in vehicular mode a top speed of 105 km/h. This speed, if he is not being backed up, allows him to be singled out by fast flying or moving Decepticons.

Overcast is often overconfident and sometimes he tries to take on terrain that he knows is too difficult. Occasionally this puts him into situations that are far too dangerous for his size and ability, situations that a larger mech. would be better able to handle.

He has a very short, hot temper that causes him to push into a very grey area of Autobot philosophy. He has a tendency towards "shoot first and ask questions later" ideology. He also thinks that the only good Decepticon is a dead one.

His general lack of fear, his boastfulness and overconfidence will be his undoing if he says the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person. Sometimes this lack of fear causes him to place his fellow Autobots into dangerous situations.

Description:

Earth style soft top Pinzgauer, tan and olive camouflage colouration, 4 metres long, 2.1 metres high in vehicular mode and 1.75 metres wide. His transformation is similar to that of Optimus Prime. After transformation he stands around 4.5 metres tall. His soft outer covering changes into a backpack when he is in robot mode. This contains supplies he needs on extended trips in the wilderness or the parachute he uses for his BASE jumping activities.
